Our reality has shifted. As the ongoing pandemic sent us into sporadic lockdowns and movements for social change shook the world, we organized within the digital realm. This book is a collection of letters, essays, poems, design projects, and interviews which reposition the role of the designer within our current reality, and critically address the design of better ones. How did we get here, and what are we doing about it?

galt. publication is a student-run, peer-reviewed journal based at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture. We are dedicated to publishing student work in the context of a larger architectural discourse that brings together the voices of designers, activists, and academics.
